Dear Friends of Art in Action,

I hope this message finds you and your families healthy and safe during this unsettling time. For those in our community who are dealing with difficulties and illness, we hold you in our hearts.  We are grateful to the teachers, docents, parents, and guardians who are working to provide some degree of normalcy, stability, and comfort for our children.

When the news came that schools were shifting to online distance learning, our team jumped into action. Working with Art in Action docents and volunteers, we are offering free online lessons, DIY art projects, and a list of art education resources for children and families. Your encouraging responses and creative ideas continue to inspire us!  If you have suggestions about how we can continue to support our community, I would love to hear from you at mary@artinaction.org

Henri Matisse said, “Creativity takes courage.”  Even more now, Art in Action must continue to provide an art curriculum that empowers students to develop their creativity, self-expression, resilience and courage. Because we know that art is essential for building the leaders of the tomorrow, we are implementing measures to weather these difficult times by seeking additional funding sources, developing new ways to deliver our program to students, and we are asking for your support.  Please consider supporting Art in Action with a donation.Together, we will move forward through this challenging time.

“Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.” – Desmond Tutu

The Art in Action team and I wish you well.

Sincerely,

Mary Carbullido
Executive Director
