ST. LOUIS, MO.- William Shearburn Gallery is presenting 6S, 5P, 1P, 1C and 1V, a solo exhibition by Tom Friedman. Tom Friedmans practice is rooted in the Zen Buddhism philosophy that meditation and mindfulness will lead to discovery, both self and otherwise. This philosophy not only applies to his creative process but also the relationship between the viewer and object and what he describes as the space between. His fluctuation between the conceptual and comical is fueled by the use of everyday materials to create eccentric works of art.
