I was born in Rishikesh, a small town of India which has been a center of spiritualism since ancient times. It was the vibrancy, colour and the spirit of the town that influenced my art from the beginning. Holy men attired in bright colours sporting dreadlocks; vivid scenes of men and women meditating and worshiping on the banks of river Ganga intrigued me and I soon learned to bring out character in my portraits and figurative drawings. Since those days my art has been a reflection of life that surrounds me.
My passion for drawing led to a career in illustration and computer animation which span over two decades. In the beginning of 2011 the hustle and bustle of Delhi was left behind as I settled into a quieter life, in beautiful Hampshire. This change was followed by my decision to embark upon a professional art career. With the help of local Art Centre I held my first solo show in Basingstoke later that year. The show was well received and I plunged into painting full time. Since then I have exhibited in numerous places of England, Europe and Asia. I regularly exhibit with International Watercolour Society participating in their juried shows held in various locations around the world.
