February 2013 |
Achieving your sporting goals couldn't be easier with our social sports leagues.
Whether it's kicking a ball or spiking a volleyball, our variety of sports leagues ensure you get the best out of sport while socialising with friends.
Enrolments for volleyball, futsal, korfball and floorball are now open. These leagues start from 4 February. For more information.
Let your kids learn new skills and experience the world’s fastest growing indoor sport with Fun Futsal.
Futsal is the FIFA-approved version of five-a-side football and is played with a smaller, low-bounce ball.
Start their futsal careers today with structured coaching sessions run by Capital Futsal and small-sided games at the ASB Sports Centre. For more information.
New to the ASB this term is a 10-week junior fencing programme – for young people up to the age of 16. Classes will start 14 February, at 4–5pm on Thursdays.
Coached by Commonwealth Games gold medallist Ping Yuan, they’ll learn from an expert. In 2011, she received Fencing New Zealand Federation’s coach of the year award.
Places are limited – to book or to find out more, email Ping at rainbowfencing@hotmail.com
Struggling to get back into sport after a summer break?
Ease your way back into being active in a fun and friendly environment at our Casual Play sessions each Thursday and Sunday evening. Bring the family and choose from a variety of sports.
Just because the holidays are over doesn't mean you can't take time out.
Tai Chi Chuan helps you relax with meditation, movement and breathing exercises to improve body and mind. It's a set of slow, continuous movements connected by smooth even breathing. Beginner and advanced classes start on Tuesday 5 February.
We’ve started work on the installation of a new two-lane jogging track. The 440m outdoor track is for the whole community to use for running and walking – and will be free of charge.
It will be marked at intervals of 100m, with start\finish at the southern end of the Sports Centre (by the main entrance).
We’ll be holding a public open day that will include a range of fun activities such as time trials. Details will be posted on our Facebook page.
Open daily 7am–10pm – Centre may close before 10pm, subject to bookings.
Public holidays: closed Christmas Day; open on other public holidays (subject to bookings).
