Health and safety statistics 2024

HSE has published the latest statistics on work-related health and safety in Great Britain

The statistics reveal that 1.7 million workers reported they were suffering from work-related ill health in 2023/24, with an estimated 33.7 million working days lost as a result.  

There were 2,257 mesothelioma deaths in 2022, with a similar number of lung cancer deaths linked to past exposures to asbestos. 

The release provides detailed commentary on these figures and is supported by:
