HEADLINES: There's plenty to chew on this week as we provide a complimentary 'Doing Business In Hong Kong' publication - timely as Beijing has relaxed foreign investment rules in its financial services sector. Elsewhere, there are significant infrastructure developments between China and Russia and China and Thailand, while we also look at China's economic stimulus plan for the rest of 2022. In ASEAN, we examine the Singapore-UK digital services deal, look at EV manufacturing incentives in Malaysia, and examine how VC funding is moving to India. There are also developments along the INSTC with successful freight test runs between Russia and India - important as the two discuss a potential free trade deal. As usual, we finish with our BRI global investment outlook.

Western media often takes aim at China’s Belt and Road Initiative, which has to be one of the inaccurately reported of all China’s State Initiatives. Readers themselves will be familiar with discussions of ‘slowdowns’, ‘disruptions’, ‘debt traps’ and all manner of problems.
