Good afternoon,

Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 share index rose 1.8 per cent to a record high of 8092.3 points. It was the biggest one-day rise in the local shares market since November 2022.

Economists and financial markets are ruling out a resumption of interest rate hikes in Australia after the underlying rate of inflation resumed its decline.

Lawyers for scandal-plagued Super Retail have rushed to court in a bid to suppress parts of the lawsuit brought by its former legal boss linked to her sacking and claims she was bullied, harassed and victimised.
