I've been posting Excel tutorial videos on LinkedIn.
A few weeks ago, a viewer asked a question: Is it possible to add to use Excel to create organizational charts? My answer is yes, by using SmartArt.
Step 1 - Get rid of the gridlines
While this step is optional, I find the organizational charts look a lot better on a blank screen. - Click the Page Layout tab on your ribbon.
- In the Sheet Options group, uncheck View.
Step 2 - Insert SmartArt - Click the Insert tab in the ribbon.
- In the Illustrations group, click SmartArt.
- In your SmartArt Categories, choose Hierarchy.
- Click an organizational chart to see a preview on the left side of your screen.
- Click OK when you find one that meets your needs.
