Aspen Ideas 2016 brought thoughtful discussion and unique perspective to the questions and issues facing the world today. Over the course of 10 jam-packed days, experts in health, politics, education, technology, science, the arts, and more, came together for meaningful dialogue. All of these discussions were recorded and many can be found on our website. (More will be added over the coming weeks, so check back often.) In addition, dozens of guest posts from AIF speakers are available on our blog, covering topics like campus protests, valuing black lives, and putting an end to neglected diseases.
And don’t miss the special series of interviews from the Festival on our podcast. A group of presenters “took over” Aspen Ideas to Go and sat down with fellow speakers to talk about art, diversity, politics, and more. Subscribe to the weekly podcast, which features programming from the Aspen Institute year-round, on iTunes or wherever you listen to podcasts.
Mark your calendar! The 2017 Aspen Ideas Festival will take place June 22 - July 1. General registration opens November 16 (Society of Fellows members may register starting Nov. 9).
That Slippery Idea Smartphone filmmaker Jason van Genderen created a short video at the Aspen Ideas Festival that poses the question: What’s the best idea you’ve ever had that slipped away from you? Using only an iPhone, he captures Festival participants of all ages contemplating the one that got away. Van Genderen spoke at the Festival about the power of storytelling through your mobile device. Watch his video on our website and read his blog post about what drove him to begin “pocket filmmaking.” |
