Wire Sculpture with Linda Lewin

Working with Wire Horses

“I have enjoyed drawing all my life,” says Linda Lewin, “but the struggle of reducing three dimensions onto a flat piece of paper often left me feeling a little disappointed. When I discovered I could draw in three dimensions with wire, I was satisfied.”

Join Linda, a hugely experienced artist-jeweller, for this immersive and instructive workshop in our classroom on Brighton beach this Autumn.

The Tutton & Young Atelier OPEN Prize

Our Atelier OPEN continues in the arches for three more weeks. We’ve had hundreds of visitors to the exhibition, who have cast hundreds of votes for their favourite artists. But we’ll have to wait until the beginning of September to find out which work wins the prize for the people’s choice.

We can reveal that the winner of the Tutton and Young Atelier OPEN Prize - as selected by gallery founders Jon Tutton and Sarah Young - is the Brighton-based Fellow of the Royal Society of Painter PrintmakersJanet Brooke.

Jon and Sarah chose her screenprint ‘At Twilight’, recognising Janet for “producing prints of quality and for pushing the process to produce detailed artworks that are evocative of Brighton: big skies, sunsets, murmurations of starlings and crumbling landmarks.”

Plus we can see many of her views from our Gallery doors! Congratulations, Janet.
