Run on tests: More evidence that we’re staring at a new COVID surge. A handout of free, at-home tests in New Orleans was halted Wednesday morning after long lines formed at fire stations and demand overwhelmed available supplies. The program was resumed at some library locations – but will only last until supplies run out. Meanwhile, as the new cases pile up, will we see a renewed statewide mask mandate? Some health officials weighed in.
Arrest questions: A story today from ProPublica and WWNO probes the arrest of a man in March 2019 following a melee in a Metairie parking garage as a Carnival parade passed nearby. Viral video of the incident is sparking questions.
