Cameron Art Museum announces call for artist proposals for Illumination 2021 from artists in the United States and Canada. Illumination, CAM’s annual exhibition of artist-made lanterns, will be held Sunday, November 28, 2021 – Sunday, January 9, 2022.

Art helps us to process collective trauma and find hope – and light – in darkness. Now, over a year into the pandemic, we see our world in a new light. We have found fresh imagination. There are scars, and, for some, there is significant loss. Yet, we look to the next day with an acquired resilience. This year, the seventh for this exhibition, artists are encouraged to explore the theme of rebirth and renewal.

An opening celebration will be held Saturday, November 27, 2021. Artists of all experience levels and genres are encouraged to submit proposals. $1500 in cash prizes will be awarded.

For more information visit CameronArtMuseum.org or email any questions to mbudd@cameronartmuseum.org with "Artist Lanterns" in the subject line.

Good luck!
