| | | Question of the Week | | | | Tuesday we asked: The Massachusetts Department of Transportation switched over to electronic tolling in the state over the last weekend in October. The new technology enables drivers to travel at speed onto roads like the Massachusetts Turnpike and through toll gantries, which will either directly charge a driver's E-ZPass account or send a bill to the owner of the vehicle. | | With all electronic tolling now in place on Massachusetts roads, how do you think it will impact your business? | | | We all know the old told taker system costs 80 cents for every dollar collected. Funny, I've seen no cost figures for the new gantry system. A painless taxing system, I predict there will be more gantries with higher toll rates. If they just added a nickel to the gas tax and "only" People that do this commute occasionally do not have a lot to say or offer. Do this horrid commute on a daily basis and let me know your opinion on what a time and stressor it is. It is just awful We need better trains to ease this congestion from Worcester. Tolls on the Mass Pike should have been eliminated and revenue replaced with a higher gas tax.
