Our specialist Abigail Molenaar is delighted to present the Spring Modern and Contemporary Art auction. Always a popular sale in our auction calendar, the timed auction is live for online bidding from the 5th April until the 23rd April and visitors are invited to come and view the artworks in our gallery space at the Battlefield saleroom on the 18th and 19th April.

The catalogue is bursting with colour and eye-catching pieces from bold, cutting-edge names in the British and International art world. With a wide range of media from oil painting, sculpture, watercolour, collage, limited edition prints and textile mixed media works, there is something for everyone in this exciting sale. Some highlights include two Banksy (b.1974) prints from his Dismaland pop-up exhibition in 2015, a group of large abstract oils by Bernard Farmer (1919-2002) and a captivating oil composition by Gillian Ayres (1930-2018) - one of the leading abstract artists of her generation.

Ever popular with our buyers at Halls we have four lots by the eminent John Piper (1903-1992) on offer as well as limited edition prints by Graham Sutherland, Ceri Richards, Dame Laura Knight, and Tom Phillips. With prices starting from £80 up to several thousand, there is a diverse array of individual and unique items to suit any budget and collection.
