Halls and the fine art team are excited to present to you our final auction of 2023! Hoping to end the year with a bang we have a whole host of unique and fascinating objects that will delight anyone for Christmas. If a touch of luxury is what you’re after we have a stunning Art Deco diamond set brooch attributed to Cartier, or for the Genteman, an 18ct gold Breguet Heritage 375 wristwatch. Valued at £4000-6000 and £6000-8000 respectively, they are sure to make anyone’s Christmas morning. For the table centrepiece an impressive Coalport limited edition Queen Victoria Diamond Jubilee vase and cover would do just the trick, estimated between £1500-2500 and limited to only 50, it’s sure to be a conversation starter. In the pictures department we have two charming snow scenes to dress the room. ‘Feeding Birds in the Snow’ by Yeend King and ‘Horse Drawn Sled in the Snow’ by Frederick William Jackson, valued at £400-600 and £600-800 truly sum up the Christmas spirit. We also feel very privileged to be offering a Frederick Edward McWilliam ‘The Women of Belfast’ sculpture. Dated 1972 and depicting the figure of a young woman, it was created as part of a harrowing series to represent women as the victims of war, in particular the brutal bombing of the Abercorn Restaurant in central Belfast on the 4th March 1972. Valued between £25,000-30,000, it poignantly illustrates the haunting subject matter. Finally, the last lot of the sale is sure to be a perfect present option for that someone who has everything. A single Brougham type horse-drawn carriage is being offered by a private Shropshire estate at £2000-3000. All it needs is a reindeer and it would be ready for St Nicolas for his 24th December duties. So, if you’ve still got some Christmas shopping to do, or are just looking to buy that something extra special, we’d love to see you on the 6th December.
