| | Our Summer Pictures, Ceramics, Collectables and Modern Design auction was another bumper sale with strong results across all disciplines. The ceramics section was swelled by a single-owner collection of Lorna Bailey pottery, with striking stylised cats and other objects attracting plenty of interest with every item selling, totalling over £5000. In pictures, the top price went to a watercolour by William John Wainwright (1855-1931), one of a number by the artist in this auction, the small work featuring a troubadour massively exceeding its £100-150 estimate to sell for £550. And in Modern Design, a stylish sofa by Olivier Mourgue Djinn for Airborne made £480 in spite of needing lots of TLC to bring it back to its former glory. There’s still time to get entries into our late Summer season of auctions and, of course, those we have planned for the autumn so contact us now to book your free appraisal with Halls team of specialists. |
