We're hiring...

for a part-time project coordinator to bring monthly Repair Cafés and Maker Days to Ottawa.
Our spring Repair Café proved that our community wants more and we're excited to announce that we received
Ontario Trillium Foundation funding to make that a reality.
Repair Cafés are events where people can bring their broken items to get repaired, thus keeping them out of the landfill. Our monthly Maker Days will offer access to work benches for people to work on their own projects using the tools from the tool library, learn new DIY skills, and build confidence by accomplishing new tasks.

Let me see that job posting

Do you have a project that needs to get done, but need the space and the tools for it?

Our next Shop Night is Aug. 14th 6-9pm. Reserve your spot here.

Our July Community Night with Vic Tesolin, the minimalist woodworker, was a roaring success.
Vic shared many great tips on how to work with wood in a minimal set up. Many people were interested in Vic's handmade hand plane and so we're putting a workshop together.
If you're interested, send us a note and we'll be in touch once we have details.
Shout out to photographers Rémi Houri & Sérgio Maranhao who came out and took fabulous pictures of the event.
I wanna make my own hand plane with Vic
August Community Night has us talking about Food Preservation

We're excited to have Gisele Paquette from Gingham Wisdom join us on Aug. 28th to learn more about various methods of canning. Jams, pickles, vegetables, or even your favourite salsa, she'll share her tips and secrets.
Oh, and there might just be some tasting involved.
We'll also have a special give-away from
Bernardin, so don't miss out!
You had me at canning!

Catch us this weekend at Blue Skies Music Festival where we will give a history of tool libraries and share tips on how to start one in your community.
Find us Sat. 9 am at the gazebo.
