A huge thank you to everyone who participated in the July yard sale. Your support was nothing short of incredible. There were a lot of donated items, but most important, a good number of you came by and shopped. With two of our biggest fundraisers put on hold due to Covid-19, this gave us a head start for upcoming winter shelter operations. Over thirteen hundred dollars was raised toward our five thousand dollar goal. Our Parade of Partners fundraising event featuring, Christian comedian, Peppi Garrett has been rescheduled for February 18, 2021. We continue to monitor both city and state guidelines regarding meetings during this Covid-19 season with your safety in mind. Normally, we are not this heavily involved in fundraising, but we like many other nonprofits, find ourselves making up ground due to state-wide restrictions. This also happens to be a huge year for us as we seek to purchase property for the ministry. Please join us in praying for the following: The purchase of property by the end of this year. A special gift towards this purchase. Donations are already coming in. A way to volunteer this upcoming season. If you are interested in helping with laundry, or serving meals, please text or call us at: 615-605-1705 or email at egrimes777@hotmail.com. We are less than a week away from passing last yearβs total of 500 bottles of water being passed out. Our clients are always happy to receive what you have provided. On their behalf, thanks again. Charles (Ed) Cathey was an incredible example of what a good Christian man should be. Although he had no biological children, he was affectionately called dad by many. Ed had a great tenor voice that blessed thousands over the years. He could have been a professional singer but chose to follow the course God laid out for him. Most of you did not know him but I wish you did. He and I served at Nashville Rescue Mission together for 16 years. His heart and passion were wrapped up in helping the homeless and ministering to the broken. On July 24, 2020 my good friend, prayer warrior, and pioneer board member went home to be with the Lord. When God put building a homeless shelter on my heart, he was the first person I told and invited to pray with me. Ed will be missed, but he has made a lasting mark on our community demonstrated by his passion and service to God. Today, Ed knew the Lord and is in the best place he can be, but he will certainly be missed by many. Ed Grimes Executive Director |
