A test of broadband speeds across 189 countries has found that Australia ranks 55th, well behind New Zealand (30th) and miles behind table-topper Singapore, where it takes only 18 minutes to download an HD movie compared to two and a quarter hours in Australia.

Wireless VR via smartphone-based and standalone headsets will leave data networks strained, generating 21,000 petabytes of traffic by 2021, said to be equivalent to a massive three billion hours of 4K video streaming!
