Ah, the fall. Summer may have better PR, but between sweater weather, falling leaves, apple picking, playoff baseball and the return of football, we all know deep down that autumn is the best.
It also means conference season is in full effect. Even though many have decided to remain virtual-only this year, they are still opportunities for companies to make their big announcements, especially involving technology, before the winter holidays gear up. For example, Morningstar will be taking some time this week during its annual conference to show off new data on the evolving model portfolio landscape and some enhancements to its Advisor Workstation to make models more accessible for advisors.
We still have plenty more to come, including Riskalyze’s Fearless Investing Summit, Charles Schwab’s IMPACT, a new Bitcoin for Advisors conference hosted by CoinDesk, and of course Financial Planning’s own INVEST conference in November. There will undoubtedly be a ton of news coming from all of them, so stay tuned.
Of course, the fall is also a busy time for dealmaking. JPMorgan continued its shopping spree with the acquisition of Frank, a college financial planning software, and iCapital made waves when it picked up structured note provider Axio Financial.
Which conference are you most excited to attend, either in person or virtually? Is there a particular wealthtech company you’re keeping your eye on for some M&A activity?
