The How and Why of Flogging

Join Avatar member Brian Dawson and Onyx member Francisco Perales for a lively discussion on Flogging.

They will discuss flogger types, safety, cleaning and technique. Each has come to this point in their flogging careers through very different paths. They will share stories and give you insights into how they developed their unique techniques.

A demonstration of how they go about their craft will follow.
 

Brian Dawson

Widely considered a BDSM authority, Brian Dawson’s expertise is in demand by community groups nationwide. 

He possesses the unique ability to convey nuances to those in both active and passive roles, helping them to understand that they share a single energy source, but draw from it in different ways. 

Brian’s 30 years of experience in the BDSM Community has earned him numerous honors including International Mr. Drummer (1989), The Los Angeles Leather Coalition’s 2006 “Mentor of the Year” and “The Leatherman’s Heart Award” (2007).
 

Francisco Perales 

Francisco Perales, aka: The Navy cub, aka: Mama’s Navy Cub (became part of Mama’s Family 2019), was born in Fort Worth Texas. Francisco joined the United States Navy in 2000 shortly after the war started and was deployed to Iraq. He did two tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. 

Francisco is a member of Onyx and currently holds the Title: Mr. Sanctuary Leather 2019. 

He believes his imagination is only limited by the new people that he meets and what he learns from their leather journey. Francisco motto is, "Let nobody set the narrative of your leather journey!"
