Avatar Celebrates 40 Years at the TOM House Friends -- Our November meeting is always a little off schedule to avoid Thanksgiving. This year we were thrilled to be invited by Durk Dehner of the Tom of Finland Foundation to celebrate Avatar's 40th anniversary at the TOM House on Wednesday, November 8. The Foundation will mark 40 years in 2024, and we couldn't be happier to celebrate our birthdays together! Los Angeles has always been at the heart of gay and leather culture, and nowhere is that more real than standing in Tom's own home, now the home of his artwork and the foundation preserving his legacy. Please join us to celebrate 40 years of Avatar and Tom of Finland this Wednesday. Durk will tell us a bit about the Foundation, and we'll have light cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. No charge, but please RSVP at EventBrite so we can plan appropriately. Neighborhood parking at the TOM House is extremely limited. Please carpool or use rideshare services/public transportation if you can.
