Supplier lead-time guide update

 Our monthly guide provides a regular update on our supplier lead times to help you plan your project. The March edition is now available here.

Avnet Abacus has recently seen the overall market tightening, due to stronger demand and logistics challenges from Asia. This is creating significant lead-time increases, which are accelerating fast.

Heavily affected product areas are tantalum, polymer and electrolytic capacitors, with lead times reaching up to a year. Supply on SMD resistors and MLCCs is also tightening.

Avnet Abacus has already started to build up sufficient inventory and pipeline to ensure a robust supply chain. However, we recommend that our customers firm up backlog where possible to minimise the impact, especially for the first half of CY21, and to better enable our suppliers to maximise capacity and efficiencies to serve the market.
