Our monthly guide provides a regular update on supplier lead times to help you plan your project. The March edition is now available here.
The market continues to be tight for the majority of products. Although we can see relaxing lead times for a few categories, like standard ceramic capacitors, we still see extended lead times for advanced ceramic capacitors, aluminium electrolytic capacitors and chip resistors. This is caused by a number of factors, such as uncertainty around the global pandemic, transportation and packaging issues, extreme weather conditions, and container shortages.
Shortages on plastic materials, steel, and even wood are still affecting lead times for connectors, cables, relays, crystals and oscillators, as well as some capacitors, power supplies and wireless modules.
Lead times on power supplies and wireless modules are now also impacted by continued allocation of electronic components. The situation is a perfect storm, and is unlikely to relax before end of calendar year 2022, and even later for some products and devices.
More information and details by product category can be found in the new update.
