Avnet Abacus has seen the overall market tightening, with extended lead times for ceramic capacitors, aluminium electrolytic capacitors and chip resistors.
Other factors, such as renewed uncertainty around the global pandemic, the historical Suez canal blockade, transportation and packaging issues, extreme weather conditions, and container and raw material shortages are affecting the latest lead times for connectors, cables, relays, crystals and oscillators, power supplies and wireless modules.
The situation is a perfect storm, and is unlikely to relax before Q2 of calendar year 2022, and even later for some products and devices.
