In an interview with Channel24, South Africa's first Bachelor Lee Thompson speaks about opening himself up to love again after appearing on the first season of The Bachelor SA.
During the final episode of The Bachelor SA season 1, Lee handed the final rose to celebrity make-up artist Gina Myers. Although she accepted, it was revealed during the After Final Rose segment that the couple ended the relationship shortly after they returned home.
Speaking to Channel24 after the episode aired, Lee said with long-distance and the added pressure of keeping their relationship secret, things got off to a rocky start and never fully recovered.
Although aired in 2019, The Bachelor SA season 1 was filmed in 2018.
Speaking to Channel24, the former Sharks rugby player says he is now ready to talk about the psychological trauma he experienced due to the reality TV dating show and the reported "deception, manipulation and lies" behind the scenes.
