Bad times for former LSU football coaches

Happy holidays.

Well, certainly not for everyone.

Especially a pair of former LSU coaches.

Sometimes the news off the field overtakes the news on the field and it isn't pretty. This is one of those times.

Former LSU assistant coach and New Orleans native Mickey Joseph has been dismissed at Nebraska amid charges of domestic violence.

And former LSU head coach Les Miles continues to make news for all the wrong reasons. Newly surfaced documents show that a former LSU student accused Miles of sexual harassment in 2013 and asked for $2.15 million to settle her case.

From sordid legal dramas back to the court (the basketball court), the LSU men's basketball team is back in action Saturday as it hosts Winthrop at 6 p.m. in the PMAC in one of the Tigers' last pre-SEC shakedown cruises.

Also Saturday, the LSU women's basketball team is out in Maui for the first of two games in the Maui Classic (man, that sounds rough), this one against Montana State. The game tips off at 10 p.m. Louisiana time.

Enjoy your sports weekend, everyone ... and get that Christmas shopping done. I'm talking about myself, not you. I'm sure you all have things well in hand.
