Femly x Fearless Fund
A few weekends ago, Baltimore founder Arion Long and her reproductive health-focused startup Femly, achieved another funding milestone by securing a $150,000 investment from Fearless Fund.
However, it's important to note that recent reports have highlighted a legal development — not involving Femly, but instead the funder: The American Alliance for Equal Rights, a group founded by noted anti-affirmative action activist Edward Blum, has filed a lawsuit against Fearless Fund. This early-stage venture capital firm has a specific focus on providing financial support to women founders of color. The lawsuit alleges racial discrimination within Fearless Fund's grant program, specifically targeting support for Black female founders.
