| | Small gestures, big impact For the past two weeks, I've embarked on a journey of clean eating, abstaining from happy hour drinks and beverages at any other time. It has been a refreshing experience that has left me feeling energized and motivated to explore new interests. Surprisingly, I found myself contemplating the idea of taking up tennis after a recent trip to Walmart, where I convinced myself that I needed a tennis racket. I admittedly know next to nothing about the sport, but it seems that many of my friends in the same age group have picked up either tennis or golf. As a complete novice to tennis, I found myself browsing tickets for the US Open, despite having no knowledge of the players or matches. It's amusing how my simple game of hitting a ball against the wall has ignited my imagination. This experience made me reflect on how small gestures and newfound passions impact our lives. In the world of technology, it's essential to embrace change and explore uncharted territories. Just like my foray into tennis, even a small gesture or a fresh perspective can reinvigorate our work. It could be a simple shift in mindset, learning a new programming language or experimenting with innovative tools that inspire us to think differently and excel in our tech careers. So, I'm curious to know: What small gesture has recently energized you in your work within the tech industry? Has there been a moment of inspiration or an unexpected spark that has ignited your creativity and enthusiasm? Let us know by replying to this email, and thanks! — Technical.ly Reporter Alanah Nichole Davis (alanah@technical.ly)
