  • Bangor's Hammond Street will see a retailer depart this month, but its space won't stay empty for long. A new cake shop will join a new comic book shop nearby. And that retailer is departing for a bigger space on Broadway.

Long-hidden photos show the volunteers who built this Maine ski slope by hand

  • Throughout the 1940s, local insurance man and photographer Richard Bell chronicled the hard-working volunteers building Titcomb Mountain, a ski slope just outside of town. Then, at some point, the pictures went into storage. That’s where they remained until they were discovered again last year.
