• Nearly 10 years ago, downtown residents, patrons, business owners and community leaders made predictions, shared their hopes for the future and aired some concerns. Here's how those predictions panned out.

• The Legislative Council blocked all but one bill related to guns from being introduced during its fall sessions. The surviving effort from state Sen. Geoffrey Gratwick, D-Bangor, would ban firearms on nursery school and childcare facility properties. It remains tabled.

A man wanted to pass on his family’s cemetery to the city, only to find out he no longer owns it

• Doug Shorey's great-grandfather originally built the Maple Grove Cemetery in the early 1950s and it has been maintained by someone in their family ever since. The only problem is, his family doesn’t own it.

• Growing up in Bangor, Hollywood screenwriter Andrew Lanham would sometimes watch courtroom movies with his father, the respected Bangor attorney Samuel Lanham, who died in 2013 at the age of 61. So when he and his longtime collaborator, director and screenwriter Destin Daniel Cretton, were working on adapting lawyer Bryan Stevenson’s acclaimed 2014 nonfiction book “Just Mercy” for film, he had his father’s desire for cinematic realism always in the back of his mind.

• Size matters when it comes to health care.
