The Bias that Propels SHIB and DOGE (CoinDesk): Why beginning investors like low-priced coins -- they feel richer. Investor takeaway: Meme coins are like penny stocks. Avoid the mental trap of "it's cheap, so I can buy more." Even if you can buy a lot of junk, it's still junk. |

USDC and Tether are providing the highest interest rates in DeFi, up to 150 times the interest rate from traditional savings accounts. |

Hi Everyone,
You may think that this is the most beautiful piece of art ever created, or you might hate it.
Either way, the artist doesn't care what you think, because it's a robot. |
|
It's all part of a new crypto-meets-artificial intelligence-generated art project called Botto.
The idea is simple. Those holding BOTTO tokens are able to vote on which pieces of art should be featured on a weekly basis. The algorithm then takes those votes into account when creating the next masterpiece.
Full disclosure: when I first saw this project at 4 a.m. on a Saturday morning and realized how new it is and what the potential could be, I aped in and bought a bag of their tokens.
The idea that my investment will go toward improving the next generation of art and that I can help shape the way that art takes course was simply too good an opportunity to pass up.
Obviously, this is classed as a high-risk investment, and I'm more than willing to lose the entire principal if this turns out to be some elaborate scam or if it just doesn't take off. That's why we diversify. |

Meta-rally
We'd like to express our extreme gratitude to Mark Zuckerberg for rebranding Facebook, and in the process, sparking a monster rally in some of the coolest crypto tokens.
MANA, the native token of Decentraland, surged close to 600% in a matter of days, according to Coinbase data. The digital token started rallying Thursday and peaked over the weekend.
We first covered this digital asset in our newsletter in June in an issue titled Big Plans.
Pleased to say the coin has now skyrocketed, solely thanks to Facebook's...er...I mean Meta's rebranding efforts.
With that, we hope that Zuckerberg's Black Mirror-esque plans to control the future of online interactions fail catastrophically. Sheesh, what a dystopian nightmare that would be.
For those of you interested, analyst Alexandre Lores has put together this extensive list of the top gaming and meta tokens for your own research. |

Back to banking
It's a big week ahead for central banks, as three of them are scheduled to announce their plans for monetary policy.
In our view, the easy cash provided by central bankers is one of the primary factors contributing to the massive bull run we're seeing in the crypto market at this time, so it pays to pay attention.
It's not that anyone is likely to make any sudden changes. Loose money is extremely popular for obvious reasons.
Hyperinflation, on the other hand, is not so hot, and if central bank policymakers don't take action relatively soon, that could very well be where we're headed. |
|
This time, the most important of the bunch is actually not the Federal Reserve, it's the Bank of England, who is widely expected to raise their interest rates for the first time since the fourth quarter of 2017.
We all know what happened shortly after. The central banks started shoring up liquidity, which ended up being not so great for financial markets and really terrible for crypto.
Of course, past performance is not an indication of future results, but we'd be silly to ignore the facts.
Wishing you an awesome week ahead! |
