Making front page news on this day in 1966 was the story of a Queanbeyan girl winning the title of Miss ACT and Southern Tablelands for the second consecutive year.
The winner was Ann Fletcher and she was an 18-year-old secretary. Ann was chosen from 16 girls, four of them from Canberra.
