An expert called to check memorial bugs made headlines on the front page of The Canberra Times, on this day in 1984. A mysterious infestation affected several staff at the Australian War Memorial, which prompted a call for its research centre to be sealed off. A spokesperson for the memorial said the infestation had seriously affected three staff members with bites. Others were slightly affected.
