Baseball fans can bid official farewell to Capital City Stadium

Historic Columbia is playing host to Closing Day at the stadium, located at 301 Assembly St. The April 4 event will feature food trucks, beverages and entertainment, and a filmmaker will be on hand to capture fans’ memories of the former home of the Capital City Bombers and other teams.

Xplor Boatworks expanding Richland County facility

The specialty recreational boat manufacturer’s $3.4 million expansion is expected to create 63 jobs and slated to be complete by the fourth quarter of 2020. The company, founded in 2017, is expanding its facility at 1124 Pineview Drive.

Public can learn about updated zoning map this month

The updated zoning map is part of Columbia’s Unified Development Ordinance, adopted in August 2019, which establishes zoning districts with different sets of permitted uses and development standards. A public meeting is set for March 11.
