NOTE FROM PETER RIMMER, NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF BBGV

As we enter 2017 I would like to wish all BBGV members and friends a Happy Christmas and Prosperous New Year. During my first 6 months in the role as Executive Director we have hosted several events such as the Half Year Review, HCMC and Hanoi Fun Runs for charity, Loseby Lectures, Corporate Football Tournament, as well as holding numerous meetings with individual UK companies based in Vietnam.

Over the past 6 months BBGV has also meet with over 100 companies voicing an interest in developing their business activities into the Vietnam Marketplace.

It has been a real pleasure to work for BBGV and I am very impressed with the BBGV Secretariat and Business Centre staff and the hard work they do each and every day. The Board members are all active participants in the running of the organisation and I feel honoured to have not only their strategic support but also their guidance.

In addition, our working relationship with Department of Investment and Trade and FCO continues to be strong and collaborative and I am grateful for all the support received from Ambassador Giles Lever and the Consul General to HCMC, Ian Gibbons.

As with any organisation there are challenges to be addressed but with such a good team and support I am sure that BBGV will rise to meet them as it has done in the past and moved on in a position of strength.

It has been a pleasure to meet so many of you in my first months with BBGV and your support and knowledge has been very welcomed and appreciated. I hope to get the opportunity to meet with many more of you in the coming months either individually or at one of the monthly BBGV networking events.

I now look towards strengthening the voice of British business in Vietnam through delivering excellent services to our Business Centre clients as well as all BBGV members through our extensive list of programmes and events taking place in 2017and onwards.
