| BBGV was pleased to welcome UK company members of the Engineering Industries Council (EIC) on the 2nd July who were attending the MTA Expo in Ho Chi Minh City. The UK companies came to meet with potential Vietnamese customers and partners. Some of the UK visitors were already well established in Vietnam and looking to expand their access into the market. For others, it was their first visit here and at the request of the EIC, BBGV provided a background briefing on “Doing Business in Vietnam’ before the MTA Expo got underway. BBGV were initially in contact with the EIC during the April Britain in South East Asia roadshow to the UK. Peter Rimmer BBGV Executive Director said ‘It was pleasing to see both established and new participating companies arriving in Vietnam for the Expo and be seriously looking to expand their work via trading opportunities in Vietnam ”. One of the visiting companies, Bowers Engineering, had previously benefitted from BBGV’s market entry support during their last visit to Vietnam. Other companies taking part in the Export included: Fenn Tool Ltd, Chester Machine Tools, Spear and Jackson, and Informa Markets. The Executive Director of the Engineering Industries Council, Karen Finegold, stated that she was encouraged by the initial engagement at the Expo and was very hopeful of seeing increased export opportunities for UK engineering companies in Vietnam in the coming years. |
