BBGV was pleased to take part in the Midterm Vietnam Business Forum 2019 held in Hanoi on the 26th June. The theme of the Forum was “Roles of Business Community in rapid and Sustainable Development”. Many members of BBGV were involved in the delivery to the Forum through their support on the Working Groups. Seven Chambers presented papers on the topic. The BBGV Chamber paper concentrated on three areas of interest which had been raised by members, Education, Agricultural product licensing and Renewable Energy. Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Mr Trinh Dinh Dung was present and gave a keynote address and Minister Mr Nguyen Chi Dung from the Ministry of Planning and Investment was also present throughout the half day meeting. Many diverse topics were covered including green growth, waste treatment, PPP, public transport, HR and training, tourism, mining, customs and taxation, education, and access to credit. In the concluding summing up of the Forum it was acknowledged that whilst economic progress had been made Vietnam needed to ensure future growth though economic reform and increased productivity which was supported by having a sustainable programme of development.
