Updates on Vietnamese authorities’ requirements to limit the spread of Coronavirus. Until 14 April all foreign nationals will be refused entry to Vietnam if in the previous 14 days they have been to the UK, or any Schengen country, even in transit. With these circumstances, Vietnam Airlines will reduce direct flights to and from Europe. Vietnamese authorities have announced various measures to tackle the spread of coronavirus within Vietnam, including: - Temporarily stopping issuing Visas on arrival at all borders, valid for 30 days since 15 March 2020. - Closing tourist areas, cinemas, bars, and concerts, particularly in Hanoi and HCMC. - People are required to wear facemasks in public areas. - Compulsory requirements to follow local Health and Entry requirements - Vietnam Airlines may permanently ban passengers who insist on flying after willfully failing to disclose their Covid-19 infection. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) advise against all but essential travel to Vietnam due to the high risk of quarantine for British nationals arriving in-country. They are not advising British nationals’ resident in Vietnam to leave as the risks of quarantine for them are much lower. The BBGV understands that the situation is changing rapidly, however, we will try to update with further information in the coming days.
