UK Minister of State for Trade Policy at the Department of International Trade, Lord Price met with Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Hoang Quoc Vuong for the 9th UK-Vietnam Joint Economic Trade Committee Talks on Wednesday 19th October. Among a range of issues including pharmaceutical legislation, work on intellectual property protection and legal system development, education was a major theme for both sides. Lord Price highlighted the strength of Vietnam’s and the UK’s growing partnership in education and training and that the UK wants to continue to support Vietnam to develop its education and training system going forward particularly in the development of its English Language Testing Centre.

His schedule also included meetings with the Minister of Industry and Trade, Mr Tran Tuan Anh, the Deputy Prime Minister, Mr Vuong Dinh Hue and the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, Mr Nguyen Thanh Phong as well as meeting a wide range of British businesses in Ho Chi Minh City.
