The British Business Group Vietnam (BBGV) proudly announces that the 17th Fun Run for Charity (Fun Run) took place on Sunday Morning, 24th September 2017 at Tan Trao, Phu My Hung, Dist 7, Ho Chi Minh City. BBGV would like to thank all our sponsors, runners and volunteers for making the event so successful and so much fun. Over 10,000 participated and a total gross amount of approximately 1,000,000,000 VND was raised to support local Vietnamese charities. The funds will be allocated to charities over the coming year, helping to improve the lives of many across Vietnam.
Below is a list of charities the BBGV supported with funds raised by the Fun Run in 2016:
- Give Smiles, Save Lives - Operation Smile Vietnam
- Medical assistance programme (MAP) – Christina Noble Children's Foundation
- Support Ben San leprosy centre and children in Binh Duong. Funds were given to support children of leprosy sufferers with school fees, text books, stationery
- Building the "Happy Room" – Friendly Library at Chau Dien Secondary School, Cau Ke District, Tra Vinh Province
- Save The Children International – Emergency relief for people affected by the floods in Central Region last winter
- Bridging the Canopy Gap: Planting native trees to improve biodiversity and habitat for Red-shanked douc langur in Son Tra Nature Reserve while creating work opportunities for citizens of Danang City.
