BBMRI.nl SPECIALS ON HEALTH-RI 2021 | Make sure to check out our selection of direct links to topics of special interest to the BBMRI community pitch by Biobank community manager Peggy Manders, Jörg Hamann further outlining the contours of the Biobank Community, BBMRI workshop by Eric Vermeulen about the activities of the Patient and Public Advisory Council David Neal from Share2Care, a nonprofit organization that organizes public engagement by using design thinking techniques to realize health innovation based on people’s needs. And last but not least, the key-note lecture by Aarno Palotie on FinnGen, a large public-private partnership aiming to collect and analyse genome and health data from 500,000 Finnish biobank participants. As Dr. Jörg Hamann mentioned: "Professor Palotie’s lecture was very interesting, even watching it for a second time on replay. Palotie made a convincing case for combining nationwide health registers with centrally orchestrated biobanks. Harmonizing clinical biobanks at the level consent and pre-analysis is necessary and should be possible in the Netherlands as well." |
