Research on COVID-19
Members of BCAM, the UPV/EHU and Ikerbasque have been working with the Basque Government’s Department of Health for the last month to model the dynamics of the COVID-19 disease, describing the impact of the pandemic and characterizing the process of infection of the disease and its evolution. In fact, BCAM has set up a working group on COVID-19 within the framework of the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence research area and the Mathematical Modelling in Biology area. This multidisciplinary group is made up of scientists that have extensive experience in modelling infectious diseases such as Dengue or Ebola.
The scientists who inspired us (II): Florence Nightingale
In honor of Women in Science we have come up with the idea of sharing some stories about the women that inspired our researchers to pursue a career in science. The second one joining this initiative has been our PhD student Lore Zumeta. Click here to find out how Florence Nightingale's important contributions to nursing and statistics inspired her journey in mathematics.
