Ikerbasque offers 10 permanent positions for researchers willing to develop a long-term scientific career in the Basque Country. This call is open to Established researchers (8-12 years of postdoctoral experience) interested in a position as Research Associate and Senior leading researchers (longer research experience) applying for a Research Professor possition. Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships

PhD student position: Spectral properties of Dirac operators on bounded domains
We are looking for a PhD candidate with an Applied Maths Master degree with emphasis on PDE and spectral/functionnal analysis. The doctoral thesis will be supervised by Luis Vega (BCAM-UPV/EHU) and Vincent Bruneau (Universitè de Bourdeaux).

Research Technician in Machine Learning
We are looking for a promising young researcher, with a MsC in Computer Science or related fields. The selected candidate will work in the framework of the BCAM “Maths & Artificial Intelligence” strategy, a series of projects in this field have been launched in different areas of Applied Mathematics.

BCAM publishes a report with predictions about the evolution of COVID-19 in the Basque Country
The document gathers the prediction results of the models developed by researchers from BCAM, the UPV/EHU and Ikerbasque together with the health institutions of the Basque Country. It also includes a detailed description of each of the models developed at BCAM: an epidemiological SHARUCD type model, a Bayesian SEIR model and a model based on Gaussian processes.
The Lehendakari welcomes the BCAM researchers that have worked on the mathematical modelling of COVID-19
Iñigo Urkullu and the Ministers for Education and Health met with the team from BCAM who has collaborated with the Department Health of the Basque Government and Osakidetza in modelling the dynamics of COVID-19. In the meeting, he highlighted the contribution of scientific research of excellence to the health management of the pandemic in the Basque Country.
