Note from the Instructor | Are you a coaster? | by Laurie Prescott, RN, MSN, CCDS, CCDS-O, CDIP, CRC If you really want to see smoke come out of my ears and my eyes roll, refer to CDI as a “retirement job.” I’ve heard such descriptions since I started in this specialty 14 years ago. What exactly does that description mean? I understand it to mean a job you take when your career is winding down and you want to slow and coast in automatic drive. And those who are coasting in automatic make it so difficult for those of us who are trying to grow this profession. |

| Blog Highlight | Here's what's been published on the ACDIS Blog in the last week: Meet a Member: 20 years since joining the CDI ranks, it's still exciting ACDIS tip: The intersection of PSI and CDI Do you have a tip, story, or perspective to share with the broader ACDIS and CDI community? If you’re interested in writing a piece for the Blog, here are a couple guidelines for you: Length: Typically, 500-700 words. If your post is longer, we may break it into two posts for readability. Content: All things CDI (and coding too)! We love hearing about your experiences and the lessons you’ve learned about CDI along the way. Besides those two guidelines, all you have to do is submit your piece to ACDIS Editor Linnea Archibald (larchibald@acdis.org) and Associate Editor Carolyn Riel (criel@acdis.org). | |
