In-Person Beyond the Studio Workshop: Digital Sketching with Carlos Carmonamedina Sunday, June 11, 1 p.m. Smithsonian American Art Museum 8th and G Streets, NW MacMillan Education Center Free | Visitors must provide personal iPad with graphics app | Registration required Join artist Carlos Carmonamedina of DC is my City for a live-sketching workshop using your personal iPad and digital graphics apps such as ProCreate, Adobe Fresco, and MediBang. After a brief introduction and tutorial, the group will explore the galleries to practice what they learned. Participants will end the session by creating a one-of-a-kind digital poster inspired by SAAM’s collection. Visitors must provide their own iPad and download a graphics drawing app ahead of time. Space is limited; ages 14 and up. | |

June features Sarah Elizabeth Charles, a vocalist and composer based in Brooklyn. Charles has released three critically acclaimed albums with her band, SCOPE and has performed at the White House, Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, and the first annual Culture Summit in Abu Dhabi.
