As managers settle in for remote work, productivity and motivation tweaks are needed, including restructuring daylong workshops into shorter, multi-day video meetings that have socialization built in before and after the meetings. Other fixes include using video chats instead of Slack or email, which work better in an office setting, but lack the personal touch.

Changing compensation to be based on an employee's location as working from home continues during the pandemic can negatively affect company culture and employee morale, writes Ian White of ChartHop. "Determining location-based salaries is a complex and time-consuming process, and if your calculations aren't consistent and transparent, it can be easy for wage inequalities to emerge," White writes.
