Shepherding in a Crisis

I’ve always found it a little humbling that the Bible repeatedly describes God’s people as sheep. Sheep aren’t the most majestic creatures. They can’t really defend themselves. They wander off. And they scare easily.

Like I said, the comparison is humbling. But accurate. And just like sheep, God’s people need to be shepherded. First, by the Great Shepherd, but also by “under-shepherds.” If you’re one of those called by God to shepherd his people, you have a high and holy calling. And doing it well, especially in a time of crisis like we’re in right now, is paramount.

Being a Shepherd Leader is crammed with wisdom on moving away from a CEO-style leader to gently guiding and nurturing your flock. You’ll hear from leaders like Eugene Peterson and Gordon MacDonald on rediscovering the essential call of pastoral work. Also, check out our Mentoring Assessment Pack. This resource will help you and other spiritual leaders in your church taking the next steps in mentoring others well.
