Benedict College alumna Clark honored with collectible coin

The $1 coin from the U.S. Mint features S.C. teacher, civil rights leader and Benedict College alumna Septima Poinsette Clark marching with three Black students. Clark taught for more than 30 years in South Carolina, including 18 in Columbia, and graduated from Benedict in 1942.

Public hearing to discuss proposed rezonings

The proposed rezoning of 11 parcels of land in Richland County will be discussed on Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. The Richland County Planning Commission recommended approval for eight of the proposals in November.

BMW Manufacturing exports $8.9 billion in cars

BMW Manufacturing exported $8.9 billion worth of cars made in Spartanburg County in 2020 despite supply chain disruptions last spring. The company led the nation for the seventh consecutive year in automotive exports by value.
