Christians in Spokane, Wash., protested plans by the city council Monday to censure or formally rebuke Spokane Mayor Nadine Woodward for attending a worship event hosted by conservative activist missionary Sean Feucht and receiving prayer from former state legislator-turned-pastor, Matt Shea last month. Religious leaders and residents strongly disputed narratives—including from Woodward's political rival in the mayoral campaign, Lisa Brown—that the event was "hate" motivated and "Christian nationalist." Multiple witnesses reported that Clinton Monroe Ellis-Gilmore, 53, of Eureka, Calif., was "sitting in his truck with the door open, masturbating for approximately one hour," authorities revealed.
